Bilingual education from early childhood!
At Russian International School, we use the most advanced and effective teaching methodologies to ensure our students achieve their best results throughout their educational journey. Effective learning of two or more foreign languages depends primarily on a well-chosen methodological approach that takes into account the child’s age and individual needs.

While there have always been linguistically gifted children, virtually any healthy child is capable of learning two to three languages simultaneously with a well-designed program. As with anything, consistent practice and deep immersion in the subject are key to success. At our school, we’ve also identified another crucial factor – the personality of the teacher plays a significant role in language learning success. That’s why in our bilingual school, most of our teachers are not only native speakers but also exceptional, inspiring, and engaging individuals who motivate students to excel.
Recent research on bilingualism has scientifically proven that children learning two or more languages have a number of positive similarities:

    Easily learn other foreign languages with a minimum of effort
  • Attention flexibility

    Possess high rates of attentional switching
  • Strong mind

    Have a high level of auditory and visual memory development
  • Clarity of speech

    Are better able to articulate their thoughts aloud
The pedagogical approach at our bilingual school in Moscow is based on the development of communicative skills - we believe that this is of fundamental importance. A child who learns a language, but is unable or unwilling to communicate in it, very quickly loses interest and willingness to continue learning.

Therefore, despite the serious methodological base of Russian International School, we are very attentive to the fact that the child's desire to communicate is not lost. The more ‘drivers’ a child has for learning a language, the more active and successful this process will be. The teachers and tutors at RIS encourage children to communicate in a foreign language outside of lessons as much as possible.
