The Chess Club at the Russian International School (RIS) is one of the most popular extracurricular activities for children. Chess promotes the development of abstract and logical thinking, inventiveness, memory capacity, and analytical skills. Additionally, regular practice enhances stress resilience, concentration, and self-control.
Program and Unique ApproachOur chess club in Moscow offers:
- Classes in groups of up to 14 children, 2-3 times a week under the guidance of an experienced coach.
- Preparation for competitions and accompaniment to tournaments.
- Unique teaching methodologies developed by our instructors.
We regularly hold chess tournaments in Zhukovka and Barvikha, including the international tournament “Rublevka Open,” certified by FIDE, which has been held at RIS on a regular basis since 2017.
Comprehensive Development and SupportThe chess section at RIS is not just about playing games; it’s also about the comprehensive intellectual development of children. Our instructors explain complex chess strategies in an accessible and engaging manner, helping students successfully apply their knowledge in practice. Chess becomes not just an extracurricular activity but also an exciting hobby that develops logic and fosters new friendships.
