This year:
- 100% pass rate
- 79% of all grades were 7–9
- 46% of all grades were 8–9
RIS students achieved particularly strong results in English as a First Language, Mathematics and Science, earning top grades of 8 and 9.
IGCSE Preparation at Russian International School
At Key Stage 4, education at Russian International School follows the GCSE programme and is designed to provide systematic preparation for the international IGCSE examinations.
This is an important stage of the British education system, providing a strong academic foundation for further study at A-Level and subsequent university admission.
The programme includes key subjects such as English Language, Mathematics and Science. The Science curriculum covers Biology, Chemistry and Physics, combining both theoretical knowledge and practical learning.
Depending on their interests and future academic plans, students can also choose from a range of additional subjects, including History, Business and Economics, ICT, Design & Technology, Art and others.
This approach allows each student’s programme of study to reflect their strengths, interests and future educational pathway.
Individual Academic Pathway
An important part of education at RIS is the individual academic pathway.
Together with teachers and academic tutors, students define their academic goals, select subjects and build a programme of study that reflects their future plans.
When choosing subjects, several factors are taken into account:
— the student’s interests and strengths;
— their intended future area of study or career;
— university requirements;
— academic goals and the level of preparation required.
Throughout the programme, teachers monitor each student’s progress, provide regular feedback and identify areas that may require additional focus.
IGCSE preparation at RIS is therefore not limited to achieving strong examination results. It is also a consistent process of developing knowledge, academic independence and the skills required for the next stage of education.
How IGCSE Results Are Graded
The current IGCSE grading system uses a scale from 9 to 1, with 9 being the highest possible grade.
Grades 7–9 represent the highest levels of academic achievement. This makes the 2026 results of RIS students particularly significant: 79% of all grades were 7–9, while almost half were 8–9.
